Preserving Your Wedding Day: A Guide to Wedding Bouquet Preservation
Preserving your wedding flowers allows you to carry that beauty with you for years to come. Here’s a step-by-step guide for preserving your wedding bouquet so it can remain a cherished keepsake.
Step 1: Choose the Right Preservation Method
Pressed flower preservation is popular for those who want a timeless, artistic keepsake. By pressing and framing flowers, you create a beautiful, low-maintenance piece that captures your bouquet’s charm. At Upland Creative, we specialize in pressed flowers but other methods include drying and encasing flowers in shadowbox frames of resin. Pressed flowers are more ideal for a piece you can easily hang in your home.
Step 2: Booking Your Preservation Service
Booking your preservation service at least 1-2 months in advance is ideal, as we may have a waitlist during busier months. Depending on availability we may be able to offer last many bookings, so even if your wedding has passed, it’s worth inquiring about options.
Step 3: Preparing Flowers for Preservation
If you’re planning on preservation, be sure to handle your bouquet with care on the day of your wedding to prevent bruising any petals. Hydrate your flowers well, and avoid exposure to extreme temperatures, as this helps preserve their colors and shapes before you ship or drop off your bouquet for pressing.
Step 4: Choosing Your Frame Style and Design
Once your flowers are pressed you will receive a mock-up design. We will also discuss customizing your frame with your preferred background, colors, and arrangement style to make it personal.
Wedding bouquet preservation is a wonderful way to keep a piece of your wedding day with you forever. By taking these simple steps, you can ensure your flowers are handled with care and transformed into a meaningful work of art that you can treasure for a lifetime.
